Certificate Course – Introductory Ergonomics

Course Introduction and General Objectives

HOEHA now offers the certificate course on Introductory Ergonomics (lectures delivered by Council Members of the Hong Kong Ergonomics Society (HKES) and invited speakers). The objective of this course is to equip students with the theory and application principles of ergonomics at the workplace. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, participants will satisfy the basic educational component of membership of the Hong Kong Ergonomics Society (HKES). Students can also claim CPD hours from other relevant professional institutions.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Participants will be awarded the Certificate in Introductory Ergonomics if they fulfill the following requirements:

  • Attendance of 100% of the scheduled lectures
  • Passing all quiz at the end of each session in accordance with the graduation requirements of HOEHA

MEMBERSHIP OF THE HONG KONG ERGONOMICS SOCIETY (HKES)

Participants would satisfy the education component of the requirement of application for Member of the HKES when they completed both (1) the 24 hours of lectures and passed their quizzes and (2) a report related to ergonomics (e.g., case study or literature review) within 2 years after the course and it received a pass grade.

Member may use the title of “Member of the Hong Kong Ergonomics Society”, and the abbreviated letters MHKES.

Length of Studies
The normative period is 4 weeks. The course comprises of 8 sessions with a total of 24 teaching hours.

Fees and Registration
Tuition fee for registration is HK$ 5,000

Fees must be paid before the commencement of the course. Fees paid are not refundable or transferable with the exception of the course being cancelled by HOEHA due to unforeseeable circumstances. Remarks: This course will take place if a minimum of 15 participants are enrolled. HOEHA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the course if there is insufficient enrollment number.
